Blue, Blush + Gold South Carolina Aquarium Wedding by Whimsey Photography

Kate + Nate were married in a tradtional ceremony at Second Presbyterian Church last summer in the heart of Downtown Charleston, South Carolina.   To celebrate, the newlyweds joined their guests for a lively reception at The South Carolina Aquarium.  Kate is a professional ballerina, a graphic designer and a wonderful artist, so it was no surprise that she put her creativity to work for her big day!   She designed all of the details and amazing programs for her wedding guests.  They chose a color palette of blue, blush & gold to accent the Aquarium and their aquatic guests.   Our favorite part, in lieu of a traditional wedding cake, the couple treated their guests to a delicious Doughnut Table and adorable Groom's cake in the shape of a bow tie!  Thanks to Whimsey Photography for capturing this gorgeous South Carolina Aquarium Wedding!

I love when our photographers share a little insight about the sweet couples that we're blessed to share here on A Lowcountry Wedding.  I always like hearing about their love and it's so fun to experience it through those who are able to capture it in person.  The talented Whimsey Photography by Cana was blessed to hang out with the adorable Sharon + Tom at Magnolia Plantation for their truly beautiful Charleston wedding elopement.  Thanks to Cana for sharing all the details...

" Sharon and Tom met in college, where Tom took a fancy to her pretty quickly. Sharon, on the other hand, was uninterested, thinking Tom was just another frat boy. Soon after giving in to hanging out with him one day, her heart began to melt and soften towards Tom, realizing he was a very humble soul who made her laugh and giggle (which is very important, ladies!). The two began dating and decided to get married just before Tom left for Afghanistan for a year. When he got back, they decided to experience the whole newlywed adventure – they went on their long-awaited honeymoon, and decided to get their wedding portraits taken, which they traveled to Charleston for. What an honor it was to take photos for this beautiful couple! Thank you, Sharon and Tom, for choosing me to capture the beauty of your marriage! And a special thank you to Tom for his service. What a sacrifice this couple has made to be together. That is true love, my friends."

Folly Beach {Kelly + Jacob}

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am for the things to come at A Lowcountry Wedding!  We're in the process of bringing on a talented crew of interns to assist in our many project this summer and can't wait to introduce them to each and everyone of our favorite Lowcountry brides and vendors!  We're starting this beautiful Spring week with a lovely Lowcountry engagement session from Whimsey Photography by Cana.  The duo kicked things off in Downtown Charleston before heading out to Folly Beach to enjoy the sunset!

Folly Beach Engagement {Katie + Adam}

Katie + Adam's laid back, coastal engagement session from Whimsey Photography by Cana is what every Charleston bride hopes for.  With the picturesque Lowcountry as the backdrop, the adorable couple was relaxed and in their element.  The duo kicked things off with a casual walk along Folly Beach before taking a stroll downtown through White Point Gardens.
