Citadel Wedding at the Summerall Chapel by Catherine Ann Photography

If you're in the market for a natural light photographer, then you're about to fall head-over-heels in love with recent Charleston-transplant, Catherine Ann Photography, and I'm about to prove it to you with this gorgeous Citadel wedding!  For any of you ladies with ties to the Citadel, I'm certain you'll be obsessing over the shots from inside the barracks and at the Summerall Chapel...cause I sure am! Charleston Weddings

From Catherine Ann Photography: "The Summerall Chapel at The Citadel has really sentimental value for Kyle and Macie. Kyle has spent the past 4 years at the Citadel and they have fallen in love with the campus and atmosphere! Before getting dressed for the day, Macie & Kyle met up for half an hour with their pastor to pray with each other and take communion. They had a short reception and spent a lot of time mingling with their guests and spending time with friends and family who traveled from other states to be with them. Macie's favorite flower is the sunflower which was incorporated in the decor as well as the bouquets for the girls. They had a really fun and colorful candy bar set up for guests to take home as favors. Once the reception was over, Macie & Kyle romped around The Citadel and downtown Charleston for 2 hours to take photos!"

South Carolina Aquarium {Joanne + Seth}

Hopefully, you caught Joanne's timeless bridal session this morning and have been anxiously anticipating her gorgeous South Carolina Aquarium wedding ever since!  The couple married this past October and incorporated a few of my favorite Charleston wedding venues into their big ol' Lowcountry affair!  Joanne + Seth + crew prepped for the evening at the charming Meeting Street Inn before heading over to the parade deck at the Citadel to catch a few shots.  They then said 'I do' in a romantic evening ceremony at the Summerall Chapel.  The celebration continued at the South Carolina Aquarium where guests enjoyed Lowcountry cuisine from Hamby Catering & Events! charleston weddingscharleston wedding vendorscharleston wedding blogscharleston destination weddingscharleston wedding venuescharleston wedding photographersweddings in charlestonmeeting street inncharleston weddingcitadel weddingssummerall chapel weddingsmilitary weddingshilton head weddingshilton head wedding vendorshilton head wedding blogsmyrtle beach weddingsmyrtle beach wedding vendorsmyrtle beach wedding blogslowcountry weddingssouthern weddingscharleston wedding cakesouth carolina weddingssouth carolina aquarium weddingswedding blogshamby catering and eventsthe flower cottagerichard bell photographycooper river bridgecharleston wedding plannerscharleston rickshaw weddingcharleston pedicab wedding

Charleston Wedding {Cameron + Janie}

We’re wrapping up this week with a classic Charleston wedding from Carmen Ash Photography, and if I had to guess, you’ll be daydreaming about these Lowcountry details for the rest of the weekend!    Janie + Cameron met while their dads were coaches for the Chicago Bears.  As the couple’s friendship grew, so did their football family!  Janie’s brother coaches for the Carolina Panthers, Cameron’s dad coached for the Colts, his brother coaches for Standford and his uncle is Norv Turner, the head coach for the San Diego Chargers (hence they didn’t get married during football season!)  Personally, I can’t get over Bride Janie’s beautiful strapless, lace gown, birdcage veil, flawless hair and the perfect pink lips!  She’s just glowing.  Her bridesmaids looked equally stunning in peacock blue dresses from J. Crew that were accessorized with gorgeous green and white bouquets from Branch Design Studio.  The guys looked handsome in tan suits with green ties…perfect for a summer wedding in Charleston.  Since the groom had previously worked at the Citadel, the couple tied the knot in front of a packed house on campus at the beautiful Summerall Chapel.  After, they snapped some seriously frame-able shots on the parade deck and in the barracks (must-haves if you get married at the Citadel!).  The couple and their guests headed to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens for one heck of a celebration from a group of fabulous Charleston wedding vendors!  Guests dined on Lowcountry cuisine from Granville’s Catering, Branch Design Studio set the mood with dreamy florals, d’lish served up a jaw-dropping cake and Archer Music Services kept the crowd dancing all evening long, but the BIG hit of the night was the cigar bar! Even grandma loved it!

Hibernian Hall Wedding {Erin + Brian}

Two years ago, I said 'I do' to this guy....

So, I figured, what better way to celebrate our anniversary, then to share our gorgeous Charleston wedding day with images from Jack Whitsitt!  The ladies kicked off the day with hair and make up at Elysium Salon before returning to the beautiful Meeting Street Inn to get all dolled up.  The bridesmaids wore strapless, knee-length LulaKate dresses in a summery, apple green color.  The boys spent the morning at the Francis Marion Hotel where they were dressed in classic, black tuxedos complete with bow ties, while they waited for an Absolutely Charleston trolley to transport them to the Citadel campus for pre-ceremony pics!  A bagpiper escorted the bridal party down the aisle at the Summerall Chapel to begin our traditional, Catholic ceremony.  After our 'I do's', we headed to the historic Hibernian Hall for an amazing evening of celebrating with our friends and family!  Cru Catering served a smorgasbord of Lowcountry cuisine including shrimp and grits (which people are still raving about!), the Travis Allison Band kept everyone up and moving all night long, and for a late night snack, Brian treated our guests to McDonald's double cheeseburgers!  If we could do it over again, we would in a heartbeat...easily, the best night of our lives :)  Emma, sorry for the dancing pic - I just had to do it!

Charleston Wedding {Megan + Ryan} Creek Club at I'On

You can call me a slacker all you want, but I'm officially throwing in the towel on this week and getting this long, holiday weekend started early!  To keep our Lowcountry ladies  tied over until we pick back up on Tuesday (yes, I said Tuesday!), we've got a fabulous Charleston wedding captured by Mell Bell of Richard Bell Photography to share.  Before I even took a peek at the pictures, I read through the list of talented vendors and stunning venues that were involved in this Lowcountry affair and immediately, I knew it would be a wedding worth sharing.  Ryan was a graduate of the Citadel (Class of '05), so the obvious (and meaningful) choice for the ceremony venue was on the grounds of the campus at the historic Summerall Chapel.  Following their nuptials, the couple and their guests headed over to the picturesque Creek Club at I'On (one of my favorite Charleston wedding venues!) for a lively evening of celebrating. The guests were treated to quite the spread from Jacob's Kitchen, while Branch  Design Studio wowed them with gorgeous centerpieces and Cupcake provided an array of tasty treats.

Francis Marion Wedding {Gina + Brandon}

The Summerall Chapel, on the grounds of the Citadel, is my favorite Charleston church.  Maybe I'm a little biased, (well completely biased because that's where I tied the knot!) but to me, it's the most breathtaking ceremony venue in the Holy City and I always love to share a Summerall Chapel wedding with A Lowcountry Wedding readers!  When you open the doors to the Chapel, the sunlight comes flooding in and it makes everyone go weak in the knees. Every. Single. Time.   Just wait, you'll see:)  Now, on to the adorable couple Gina + Brandon.  Bride Gina started the day with her maids in tow at the Cypress Salon in Summerville, before heading to the Citadel campus where they finished getting ready.  After the ceremony, the newlyweds toured the beach and Charleston peninsula with the talented Philip of Studio 1250 for some gorgeous wedding portraits.  Then, the duo joined their lively friends and family for an evening of dinner and dancing at the beautiful Francis Marion Hotel.
