I've been waiting to share this pretty for awhile. I felt like I needed to wait until the weather started getting warmer and it was officially Springtime so everyone could appreciate these lovely details designed by Ooh! Events and Charleston Flower Market at Cassina Point Plantation. The Plantation sits on Edisto Island and it's Antebellum past holds deep Southern roots (Check out the history here) which make it the perfect location for a sweet Lowcountry wedding. Between the mini pecan pies from Brown's Court Bakery, the watercolor invites from Ruffled Ink and that romantic tablescape, this is like my own personal (pink) southern dream! Special thanks to Stefanie Kapra for sending this beauty our way!
From Stefanie Kapra Photography: Cassina Point Plantation was build in 1847-48 in a secluded part of Edisto Island in South Carolina. The house sits 100 feet from a quiet creek and salt marsh and is surrounded by towering pines, palmettos, pecan and live oak trees. Only recently did the owners of the Plantation open up their home and grounds to host weddings - but the location is gorgeous and has a lot of southern charm. Parts of the movie "Dear John" (after the book from Nicholas Sparks) starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Siegfried was filmed here a few years ago. Our southern inspired wedding shoot took place in this charming setting - and we set up the gorgeous farm table under one of the beautiful life oak trees in front of the plantation house. Other southern elements used/included are the mini pecan pies (Thanks to Brown's Court Bakery) and the famous southern sweet tea - set up for cocktail hour refreshments. The bottles for the tea were wrapped in some fabric and stamped with a little "thank you" note for the guests. The color scheme was inspired by the natural colors that can be found around the plantation - mostly greens (spanish moss), soft pinks and natural tones. The ladies from Ooh! events, Polished and the Charleston Flower Market worked their magic to create a rustic yet elegant setting that perfectly fit in with the surroundings. The lanterns which hung from the tree added the needed romantic feel and perfectly rounded up the setting. Laura from Ruffled Ink added not only her beautiful invitation and calligraphy, but also did a little DIY project for the table number. We decided to use a new medium for the escort cards - and went with some vintage fabric instead of paper. The flower pouches used for the escort cards were also handmade. Devon and Charlotte did an amazing job with the models hair and make-up. The goal was to keep this shoot organic and natural - to inspire brides to get back to the roots and to utilize the natural setting of their venue as much as they can and to get creative with the natural resources that they will find at their venue - to create a honest and romantic wedding.
