From the photographer: “Jenny & Michael were supposed to get married at Boone Hall Plantation, but like many couples this year, they decided to push their big celebration to a later date. They chose to elope in their favorite small beach town (where Mike proposed!) on their original wedding date and we were so happy to capture it for them!

A few of their loved ones, family, and closest friends helped pulled together decor to make the day special with everything they had access to. They set up the sweetest little reception table with string lights, wrapped the the front step railings with garland and decorated the front steps with votive candles for the ceremony! Jenny even surprised her groom with wearing her actual wedding dress for the event! Even though the travel restrictions prevented some of their siblings from attending, their friend live-streamed the ceremony in a private facebook group so they could all still be apart of it! The siblings that couldn’t attend also created and sent Jenny & Michael the sweetest youtube video message!

From the Bride:“The day of, last minute, I pulled an audible and decided to wear my dress that I was originally saving for December (I get to wear it twice!). I had left the dress in Charlotte, and Mike’s sister saved the day by bringing it (unfortunately Mike only had his “golf apparel” on him haha). I also didn’t have a Bouquet since my florist was rescheduled, so my mom picked up flowers on her way down to Charleston and incorporated her Swedish grandmother’s (“Mormor” in Swedish) handmade handkerchief and blue ribbon into it. Before the ceremony, I went to Mount Pleasant to spend some time with my parents because the Island was blocking access from 8am-5pm that day. We also didn’t rehearse or plan the ceremony/day out in true last minute fashion, but we were so grateful how it turned out thanks to Kailee and Tim for (unknowingly) playing a partial role of wedding directors ???? and of course Chaplain Jason Strong for the beautiful ceremony. The wedding really turned out more than we could have even dreamed. We were also able to stream it live in a private Facebook group so loved ones could watch virtually.”

Although, Covid-19’s arrival in 2020 forced this couple to change their original wedding plans, they truly couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day! The weather was perfect with a cool breeze and the love & happiness for this couple was felt all around! We asked them what advice they would give to upcoming future couples, from one Covid-19 Wedding experience to another: “To step back and reflect the true purpose and meaning of what you are doing and its importance and value. With that perspective, your wedding can only fall into perfect place, without you even knowing it and in ways only God can have in store for you. To be grateful you have each other, in good health, and to cherish how special that is when so many have loss and to hope for and find the silver lining in the unexpected and challenging events that influence your wedding day. Mike and I looked at how everything turned out, and realized how much stronger of a couple and team we are as a result. We love each other so much more for it and find gratitude in the unexpected beautiful plan for our day we would have never foreseen.”
