Max + Jackie's Forsyth Park ceremony in Savannah, Georgia

Happy 2017! With some new additions to the website and the launch of the 2nd Edition of ALW Mag just around the corner, we are excited to kick off the New Year. We've also got quite the selection of beautiful real Lowcountry weddings to share - starting with Canadian couple Jackie + Max's destination wedding. The afternoon began with a lovely outdoor ceremony at Forsyth Park in Downtown Savannah, Georgia where the aisle was lined with mason jars of baby's breath. Jackie donned a lace gown with a sweetheart neckline and a delicate up-do from JW Salon while her maids wore long dresses in soft hues.. To top off her bridal look, she carried a bouquet of all white blooms and greenery accents from A to Zinnias. Max and his groomsmen wore grey suits with navy bow ties. After enjoying the beauty of Downtown Savannah, they boarded a bus from Lowcountry Valet & Shuttle Co. and headed over the South Carolina state line for an intimate reception at The Oldfield Club just outside of Bluffton. First City Events planned an elegant March evening with crisp white linens, lanterns, candlelight and greenery details for the joyous Spring celebration. From the Bride: "Max and I visited Savannah shortly before we got engaged and absolutely fell in love with the romantic Spanish moss, the charming cobblestone roads and the historic nature of the city. As soon as we got engaged, we knew we wanted to share all of that with our friends and family and so we quickly decided that we would have a ‘mini-destination wedding’ down South.

We used the pineapple as our wedding theme as we LOVED that it was a symbol of welcome and hospitality down South. How better than to welcome our guests to our wedding than with a historic symbol of Southern hospitality? We had a custom wedding crest created to include the pineapple and used that on our wedding invitations, welcome bags, favours, etc.

We had an intimate ceremony at Forsyth Park under the beautiful Spanish moss trees and then continued the celebrations at the River Club at Oldfield Plantation. While the rain dampened our plans for lawn games during cocktail hour, the clouds blew over in time for us to dance the night away under the stars."
