Rebecca + Christian were married last April at The River Course in a dreamy Kiawah Island wedding. Rebecca stunned in an Anna Maier ~ Ulla-Maija gown from Gabriella New York Bridal Salon that she paired with a lush bouquet of poppies, roses and coral charm peonies from Sara York Grimshaw Designs. Her beautiful blonde hair was pulled back into an effortless half up-do with a floral accent. Sara York Grimshaw Designs continued the chic decor with neutral linens and dark chivari chairs. Whimsical arrangements of white, peach and pink flowers lined the tables as guests enjoyed Lowcountry cuisine, a cigar station and the Motown sounds of The Adrian Duke Project. To find out more about the couple, the menu and their Texas-inspired specialty drink, see Bride Rebecca's comments below. From The Bride: Christian and I met studying in Paris and we remained dear friends for years before our relationship turned romantic. I am originally from Detroit, Michigan, and spent the past seven years living in New York. Christian grew up in Dallas, Texas. Since all of our guests were traveling to Kiawah Island, South Carolina to celebrate us, we wanted to make the wedding unique and draw from our various living locations while still maintaining a lowcountry base theme. To represent Texas, we served Ranch Water (jalapeno infused tequila with club soda and lime juice) as our signature cocktail. We had a Motown themed band to represent Detroit and our food was most definitely lowcountry - shrimp and grits, oyster shooters, chicken and waffles. The cigar roller on the back lawn of the River Course made for a beautiful setting to watch the sunset over the Kiawah River. The turkey boas we passed out at the end of the night covered the dance floor with beautiful feathers. In keeping with golf course backdrop, we departed the event in a decorated Kiawah Island Club golf cart as our friends and family waved us goodbye with ribbon wands at the end of the evening. Our wedding was truly magical and we enjoyed every moment.
